FAWM

Alternate title: This Month's Glorious Creative Disaster

As I wasn't involved in a play or other creative enterprise, and was looking for an excuse to play more guitar (as well as buy a 16-track recorder), I decided to give February Album Writing Month a shot. In short, the goal is to write 14 songs in 28 days (this year, you're jokingly supposed to write an additional half of a song, as 2008 is a leap year).

I figured it would be even more fun to have an end product in mind: I was to write an album for an all-girl rock band called the Mullettes. It would sound like AC/DC, X, The Donnas, The Cars, and Jim Carrol got thrown into a blender.

With just over five full days to go, I've got two songs "done," music largely figured out for seven more, and a couple of additional riffs floating around in my brain. This last week (which includes my 4th wedding anniversary, no less) is going to be rough, to say the least.

Man, I'd better get back to work.

Rock on,
Regis

Buttercup,

I am so not jealous of your blog. Just so you know. Hey, maybe you'll get more shit done on here than on FAWM. Burn, muthafucka!
